Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sheng Ling (also known as Shenqi Yiqi Shengxue mixture) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Yueyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated with several herbal ingredients, including Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), Codonopsis pilosula (Dangshen), Rehmannia glutinosa (Dihuang), Prepared Rehmannia root (Shudihuang), Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen), Atractylodes macrocephala (Baizhu), and Angelica sinensis (Danggui). Sheng Ling is primarily used to treat chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), particularly refractory cases, by promoting platelet production, regulating immune function, and controlling bleeding. It is often evaluated in combination with low-dose corticosteroids (such as prednisone) to improve efficacy and safety in patients with refractory chronic ITP.
