Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sheng Xue Wan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of various blood-related deficiencies, including anemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia. It is frequently utilized as an adjuvant therapy to mitigate bone marrow suppression (myelosuppression) induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy in cancer patients. The formulation typically consists of a complex mixture of herbal and animal-derived ingredients, including *Cervus elaphus* (deer antler), *Panax ginseng*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, and *Angelica sinensis*. These components are believed to work synergistically to tonify Qi and nourish blood, specifically by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow. By enhancing the production of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, Sheng Xue Wan helps restore hematological parameters and improve the overall immune status and quality of life for patients with chronic hematopoietic disorders.
