Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sheng Xuexiaoban Capsules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). The drug is designed to increase peripheral platelet counts and reduce bleeding symptoms in patients with thrombocytopenic conditions. It is often utilized as an adjunctive therapy alongside standard Western treatments, such as corticosteroids, to improve clinical outcomes in relapsed or refractory cases. The formulation typically comprises a mixture of herbal extracts intended to clear heat, detoxify the blood, and promote hematopoietic function. A Phase 4 clinical trial (ChiCTR2300073565) has been initiated in China to further evaluate its therapeutic effectiveness and underlying biological mechanisms in adult patients with relapsed or refractory primary ITP.
