The solution typically comprises extracts from several medicinal herbs, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Ligustrum lucidum* (Nuozhenzi), *Lycium barbarum* (Gouqizi), and *Epimedium* (Yinyanghuo). Its mechanism of action involves the stimulation of the hematopoietic system and the protection of bone marrow function, which helps maintain white blood cell counts during cytotoxic therapy. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as those conducted by the Civil Aviation General Hospital, for its efficacy in colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy to reduce the incidence of hematologic toxicities like anemia and thrombocytopenia.
