Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shengmai capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation composed of Radix ginseng, Radix ophiopogonis, and Fructus schisandrae in a 1:2:1 ratio. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of coronary heart disease, specifically for patients exhibiting "qi-yin" deficiency. In clinical research conducted at Guang'anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the capsule has been evaluated for its ability to improve clinical syndromes and modulate inflammatory markers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), endothelin-1 (ET-1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), and homocysteine in patients with unstable angina pectoris following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The formulation is designed to replenish qi, nourish yin, and promote the production of body fluids, thereby supporting cardiovascular recovery and reducing post-procedural inflammation.
