Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shengqing Jiangzhuo Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of postoperative fatigue syndrome (POFS). POFS is a clinical condition characterized by persistent exhaustion, cognitive dysfunction, and physical weakness following major surgery, often linked to inflammatory stress and metabolic imbalances. The granule is formulated based on the TCM theory of "ascending the clear and descending the turbid," which focuses on restoring internal homeostasis and improving Qi circulation. Pharmacological studies suggest that the granule exerts its therapeutic effects by modulating the inflammatory response, specifically by reducing levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF), and by regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. It is typically administered orally during the recovery phase following gastrointestinal or other major surgical procedures.
