Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shengxian Tang Modified Granules is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula in granular form, derived from the classic Shengxian Tang (Shengxian Decoction). The original Shengxian Tang is composed of several herbal ingredients including Astragali Radix (Huang Qi), Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhi Mu), Bupleuri Radix (Chai Hu), Platycodonis Radix (Jie Geng), and Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Sheng Ma). It is traditionally known for its ability to tonify and ascend Qi, and elevate Yang-Qi. The modified granular form is being investigated for its potential to enhance postoperative efficacy in lung cancer patients, specifically for treating postoperative respiratory function impairment in IB-IIIA Stage NSCLC. Its anti-cancer activity is believed to involve inducing tumor necrosis and downregulating hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-1α), with active components such as mangiferin, calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside, isoferulic acid, and formononetin contributing to these effects.
