Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shengyang Shiyiwei Pill (SYP) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation, often associated with Mongolian medical traditions, used primarily for the treatment of liver diseases, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its complications such as malignant ascites. It is a multi-component herbal product composed of eleven ingredients designed to provide a multi-targeted therapeutic approach. Research indicates that SYP can enhance the efficacy of anti-angiogenic agents like bevacizumab by promoting ferroptosis in HCC cells and modulating the tumor microenvironment. It is typically used as an adjunctive therapy in China to improve clinical outcomes and overcome resistance to standard-of-care targeted treatments in oncology.
