Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shengyang Yiwei Chongji (升阳益胃冲剂) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originally described by the physician Li Dongyuan in the 'Pi Wei Lun' (Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach) during the Jin-Yuan dynasties. It is a complex herbal combination consisting of 14 ingredients, including Astragalus, Ginseng, and Atractylodes, designed to tonify the spleen, benefit the stomach, and clear damp-heat. The formula is primarily indicated for spleen and stomach qi deficiency accompanied by dampness, manifesting as fatigue, poor appetite, loose stools, and a heavy sensation in the limbs. In modern clinical practice, it is widely used in China for the treatment of chronic gastritis, functional dyspepsia, and chronic fatigue syndrome where the underlying TCM pattern matches spleen deficiency with damp-heat.
