Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ShenJu Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Professor Wang Lei at Hebei Medical University/Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a concentrated herbal extract primarily composed of ingredients such as Ginseng (Shen) and Chrysanthemum (Ju), specifically indicated for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and carotid atherosclerosis. The drug is administered orally and is designed to improve lipid metabolism, reduce oxidative stress, and enhance vascular endothelial function. By addressing these factors, ShenJu aims to reduce arterial stiffness—evaluated through Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV)—and inhibit the progression and rupture of carotid plaques, thereby decreasing the risk of cerebrovascular events such as stroke. Compared to traditional decoctions, the granule formulation offers higher concentration, improved bioavailability, and greater patient convenience.
