Overview
Shenkang Injection is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation widely used in China for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and renal failure. It is composed of extracts from four medicinal herbs: *Rheum palmatum* (Rhubarb), *Astragalus membranaceus* (Mongolian Milkvetch), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Red Sage), and *Carthamus tinctorius* (Safflower). The injection is designed to improve renal function by promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and clearing heat and toxins. Clinically, it is used to lower serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels, reduce proteinuria, and delay the progression of renal insufficiency. It is often administered as an intravenous infusion and has been the subject of extensive post-marketing safety and efficacy monitoring.
