Shenkefu

Shenkefu (also known as Shenkefu Granules) is a proprietary traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed by Chengdu Nanshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of chronic kidney disease, specifically diabetic nephropathy. It is formulated as oral granules and is indicated for patients exhibiting "Qi and Yin deficiency" and "blood stasis" patterns, which are common clinical presentations in progressive renal damage. The therapeutic mechanism of Shenkefu involves the modulation of multiple signaling pathways; it primarily acts by inhibiting the expression of transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-beta1) to reduce renal interstitial fibrosis and suppressing nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) to alleviate renal inflammation. Clinical studies, including Phase II and Phase III trials in China, have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing urinary protein excretion, improving renal function parameters, and slowing the progression of kidney disease in diabetic patients.
