Shenling Baizhu Powder Capsules

Shenling Baizhu Powder Capsules (SLBZP) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation under clinical investigation for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Originating from the classic Song Dynasty prescription 'Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang', the formulation is a multi-component, multi-target preparation traditionally used to strengthen the spleen, replenish Qi, and resolve dampness. In modern clinical trials, such as those conducted by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, SLBZP is being evaluated in combination with Guben Qushi Huayu Granules to prevent relapse in adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis following successful induction therapy with the IL-17A inhibitor ixekizumab. Component analysis has identified 42 principal active components, including flavonoids, saponins, and ginsenosides, primarily derived from key herbs like licorice and ginseng. SLBZP is thought to exert its therapeutic effects by modulating the gut microbiota, improving intestinal barrier function, and regulating lipid metabolism, thereby reducing systemic inflammation.
