Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shenpu Granules (also known as 参蒲颗粒 or Shenpu Pen'an Granules) is a Class 1.1 innovative traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed by Kanion Pharmaceutical. It was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on July 31, 2025, for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain caused by sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is classified under the TCM syndrome of dampness-heat and blood stasis obstruction. The formulation is a multi-herb granule preparation derived from a clinical experience prescription of Professor Tan Yong from the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. It consists of several herbal ingredients, including Codonopsis pilosula (Dangshen), Sargentodoxa cuneata (Daxueteng), Taraxacum mongolicum (Pugongying / Dandelion), Smilax china (Baqia), Gleditsia sinensis spine (Zaojiaci), Polygonum cuspidatum (Huzhang), Paeonia lactiflora (Chishao / Red Peony Root), Corydalis yanhusuo (Yanhusuo), Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen), and Lindera aggregata (Wuyao). In TCM theory, Shenpu Granules functions to replenish qi, activate blood circulation, clear dampness and heat, and unblock collaterals to relieve pain.
