Overview
Shenqi Balance Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) botanical formulation developed by Xi'an Lejian Biotechnology for the treatment of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug is specifically designed to address the TCM syndrome of Qi and Yin deficiency with collateral stasis, which is a common pathological state in diabetic microvascular complications. The formulation likely contains extracts from traditional herbs such as Ginseng (Ren Shen) and Astragalus (Huang Qi), which are traditionally used to tonify Qi and nourish Yin. It is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials in China to determine the optimal dosage and preliminary efficacy for subsequent Phase III confirmatory studies.
