Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shenqi Fuzheng Injection (SQFZI) is a standardized Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal injection developed and manufactured by Lizhu Group. It is formulated from the extracts of two primary medicinal herbs: *Radix Codonopsis* (Dang Shen) and *Radix Astragali* (Huang Qi). SQFZI is widely utilized in China as an adjuvant therapy for patients with various malignancies, most notably lung cancer and gastric cancer, who are undergoing chemotherapy. The injection is designed to enhance immune function, reduce the toxic side effects of cytotoxic drugs, and improve the overall quality of life by addressing cancer-related fatigue. Mechanistically, it acts as an immunomodulator by stimulating T-lymphocyte proliferation and natural killer (NK) cell activity. Additionally, it has been investigated for its potential role in treating viral pneumonia, including COVID-19, by supporting the host immune response.
