Overview
Shenqi Yichang Formula (SQYCF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal decoction developed by the Jiangsu Province Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine for the treatment of colorectal cancer and colorectal adenocarcinoma. The formula is primarily composed of several botanical ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Panax ginseng* (Renshen), which are traditionally used to tonify Qi and strengthen the spleen. Modern pharmacological research indicates that SQYCF exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and suppressing the migration and invasion of cancer cells. This mechanism is largely mediated through the modulation of the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway, specifically by reducing the expression of TGF-β1 and the phosphorylation of SMAD2 and SMAD3. SQYCF is often utilized as an adjuvant therapy to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in patients with colorectal malignancies.
