Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shenqing Jiaonang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) capsule approved in China for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Developed by Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical, the formulation includes Ginseng (Panax ginseng), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai), Realgar (Xionghuang), Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang), and Borneol (Bingpian). The therapeutic mechanism is primarily attributed to the anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of its constituents. Indirubin, a key component of Indigo Naturalis, acts as a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor, while arsenic compounds derived from Realgar induce apoptosis in leukemic cells. It is typically used to improve clinical symptoms and hematological parameters in patients with CML, often as an adjuvant to standard therapies.
