Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shensong Yangxin Capsule (参松养心胶囊) is a proprietary Chinese medicine developed under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theories, particularly the "collateral disease" theory. It is an oral capsule formulation containing multiple herbal ingredients, including ginseng (人参), ophiopogon root (麦冬), cornus fruit (山茱萸), salvia root (丹参), fried ziziphus seed (炒酸枣仁), mulberry mistletoe stem (桑寄生), red peony root (赤芍), ground beetle bug (土鳖虫), nardostachys root (甘松), coptis rhizome (黄连), schisandra fruit (南五味子) and dragon bone fossil. The product is designed to "tonify qi and nourish yin, activate blood circulation and unblock collaterals, clear the heart and calm the mind." Mechanistically, Shensong Yangxin Capsule exerts antiarrhythmic effects through multi-ion channel modulation—balancing inhibition of various cardiac ion channels to maintain electrophysiological stability—while also regulating autonomic nervous function, reducing oxidative stress injury in cardiomyocytes, improving cardiac conduction system function, suppressing ventricular remodeling and neural remodeling. Clinical studies have demonstrated efficacy in treating arrhythmias such as premature ventricular contractions/ventricular extrasystole—including both organic and non-organic types—as well as atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation procedures. It has also shown benefit for bradyarrhythmia syndromes where few effective pharmacotherapies exist. The drug has been validated in multiple large-scale randomized controlled trials for arrhythmia indications; it reduces premature beats frequency significantly more than placebo or standard therapy alone[2][3][4]. Safety data indicate no significant increase in adverse events compared with control groups[2].
