Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shenwei compound (also known as Shenwei Fufang or 肾痿复方) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by researchers at Southwest Medical University (formerly Luzhou Medical College), specifically under the guidance of Professor Fan Junming. The compound is formulated with several key herbal ingredients, including Astragalus membranaceus (黄芪), Panax notoginseng (三七), Angelica sinensis (当归), Achyranthes bidentata (怀牛膝), Laminaria japonica (昆布), Ostrea gigas (牡蛎), and Rheum palmatum (大黄). It is designed to tonify the spleen and kidney, promote blood circulation, and resolve stasis. Clinically, Shenwei compound is being evaluated for its ability to preserve residual renal function, improve biochemical parameters, and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in patients with chronic renal failure (chronic kidney disease) undergoing maintenance hemodialysis.
