Overview
Shenxiang Suhe Pill (参香苏合丸) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation traditionally used for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It is composed of several aromatic and medicinal herbs, including Ginseng (Panax ginseng), Styrax (Liquidambar orientalis), Borneol, Frankincense, and Myrrh. The formula is designed to replenish qi, resolve phlegm, and open the orifices to restore consciousness and alleviate pain. In modern clinical practice, it is being investigated for its potential to treat posterior circulation ischemic vertigo (PCIV) by improving blood flow in the vertebral-basilar artery system and providing neuroprotective effects. The drug is typically administered as an oral pill and is often used as an adjunct to conventional Western medical treatments for ischemic conditions.
