Overview
Shenxie Zhitong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of sciatica and radiculopathy resulting from lumbar disc herniation. The formula is designed to tonify Qi, activate blood circulation, and alleviate pain, often used in conjunction with acupuncture. It is currently being evaluated in randomized controlled trials to compare its efficacy against standardized non-operative treatments for patients with L5 or S1 radiculopathy.
