Overview
Shenyu enema decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation administered rectally as an enema. It is currently under clinical investigation for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. As a TCM enema, it is believed to deliver active herbal compounds directly to the colon, thereby bypassing hepatic first-pass metabolism and exerting local and systemic therapeutic effects.
