Shenyu Ningshen tablets

Ningyuyixing tablets (also known as Shenyu Ningshen tablets or Shenwei Ningyu tablets) is a Category 1.1 innovative traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed for the treatment of mild to moderate depression, specifically for patients presenting with Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome. Originally developed by the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the formulation consists of four botanical ingredients: American Ginseng (*Panax quinquefolius*), Radix Curcumae (*Curcuma aromatica*), Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (*Ziziphus jujuba*), and Schisandra Chinensis. It is marketed by Guangdong Siji Pharmaceutical under the brand name Zining (紫宁) and manufactured by Yili Pharmaceutical (Luoding). In clinical trials, Ningyuyixing tablets demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing HAMD-17 scores and improving symptoms of anxiety, cognitive impairment, and insomnia compared to placebo, with a safety profile comparable to placebo and fluoxetine. The drug was approved for marketing by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in June 2023.
