The **Shenzhen Quadrivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine (Shz QIV)** is a split-virion, inactivated vaccine developed by Sanofi Pasteur's Shenzhen facility in China. It contains 15 μg haemagglutinin each from four influenza virus strains—two influenza A (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B (Victoria and Yamagata lineages)—cultured in chicken embryos, harvested, inactivated, purified, and disrupted into a slightly opalescent liquid formulation in 0.5 mL single-dose vials. Administered intramuscularly, it induces protective humoral immunity via hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) antibodies against seasonal influenza, demonstrating non-inferior immunogenicity to trivalent counterparts and superior responses to heterologous B strains in phase III trials across ages 6 months to ≥65 years, with a favorable safety profile comparable to trivalent vaccines.[1][2][3]
