Overview

Shenzhuo Soup (also known as Shenzhuo Decoction or Ganjiang Lingzhu Gancao Tang) is a classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula originating from the text 'Synopsis of the Golden Chamber' (Jingui Yaolue) by Dr. Zhang Zhongjing. The formula consists of four herbal ingredients: dried ginger (Gan Jiang), poria (Fu Ling), white atractylodes (Bai Zhu), and licorice (Gan Cao). It is traditionally used to warm the spleen and dispel dampness. In modern clinical research, Shenzhuo Soup is developed and evaluated by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, often in combination with Mahuang Fuzi Soup, for the treatment of membranous nephropathy (specifically idiopathic membranous nephropathy presenting with a Shaoyin-Taiyin syndrome pattern).
