shGPX3-39 is a short hairpin RNA (shRNA)-based gene knockdown construct specifically designed to target murine glutathione peroxidase 3 (GPX3) mRNA and reduce its expression in preclinical models. Its mechanism of action consists of RNA interference that silences GPX3, a critical antioxidant enzyme. In mouse models of ovarian cancer, stable transfection with shGPX3-39 in tumor cells results in significantly decreased GPX3 expression, reduced tumor burden, and delayed accumulation of ascites, highlighting that GPX3 supports tumor progression and dissemination in vivo. shGPX3-39 is an experimental genetic reagent used in mechanistic oncology and metabolic studies, not a pharmaceutical product.
