SHH siRNA is a small interfering RNA specifically designed to silence the expression of **Sonic hedgehog (SHH)**, a key ligand in the Hedgehog signaling pathway. The RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism utilizes short double-stranded RNA molecules to induce sequence-specific degradation of SHH mRNA, thereby reducing SHH protein production. By inhibiting SHH expression, SHH siRNA suppresses downstream activation of the Hedgehog pathway, which is central to cellular proliferation, differentiation, migration, and tumorigenesis. SHH siRNA has been experimentally demonstrated to reduce SHH-mediated tumor growth in vivo and attenuate processes such as PDGF-BB-induced migration in smooth muscle cells. Its primary utility is in research and preclinical studies targeting SHH-dependent cancers and pathological tissue remodeling[5][8].
