Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shi-Bi-Lin is a modified traditional Chinese herbal formula derived from the classic Cang-Er-Zi-San. It has been used primarily for the treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR), including perennial and chronic forms. Clinical studies have shown that Shi-Bi-Lin can alleviate nasal symptoms such as nose blockage and improve quality of life in patients with moderate to severe perennial allergic rhinitis. Its mechanism of action appears to involve inhibition of type I anaphylaxis reactions, reduction in eosinophil infiltration in nasal tissues, suppression of IgG1 production, and decreased levels of certain inflammatory mediators like thromboxane B2. The formula is considered safe with no serious adverse events reported[1][2].
