Shigella flexneri 2a InvaplexAR is an artificial Invaplex vaccine, developed as a subunit approach, designed to prevent Shigellosis and Bacillary Dysentery. It induces immune responses against serotype-specific lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and conserved invasion plasmid antigen (Ipa) proteins B and C of Shigella flexneri 2a. The vaccine is administered intranasally and has completed a Phase 1 clinical trial to assess its safety and immunogenicity.
