Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Shigella4V (S4V)** is an investigational tetravalent bioconjugate vaccine developed to prevent shigellosis. It contains O-antigen polysaccharides from *Shigella flexneri* serotypes 2a, 3a, and 6 and *Shigella sonnei*, conjugated to a carrier protein to induce serotype-specific anti-O-antigen immune responses. LimmaTech led early development and completed a Phase 1/2 age-descending study in adults, children, and infants; Valneva obtained an exclusive worldwide license for further development, manufacturing, and commercialization. The FDA granted Fast Track designation to Shigella4V in October 2024. ([clinicaltrials.gov](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT04056117))
