Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shiliu Buxue Syrup (石榴补血糖浆) is a traditional Chinese medicine formulation primarily used for replenishing blood and qi. It is indicated for symptoms associated with blood and qi deficiency such as shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, forgetfulness, fatigue, pale complexion, and insomnia. The formula combines ingredients including pomegranate (Punica granatum L.), sour pomegranate (acidic variety of Punica granatum L.), goji berry (Lycium barbarum), red ginseng (Panax ginseng), angelica sinensis root (Danggui), astragalus root (Huangqi), among others. In Uyghur medicine theory it is used to "nourish the blood and brain," particularly for anemia caused by abnormal bile temperament leading to palpitations, anxiety, shortness of breath and dizziness. In traditional Chinese medicine it is classified as a tonic that supplements both qi and blood[1][5][8][9]. Clinical research suggests efficacy in improving symptoms related to anemia or "blood deficiency" states[5]. It may also have applications in managing hyperlipidemia[5].
