Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Shinbaro Pharmacopuncture is a traditional Korean herbal medicine injectable developed by the Jaseng Medical Foundation for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly spine and joint conditions. It is administered via pharmacopuncture, a specialized technique that combines acupuncture with the injection of herbal extracts into specific acupoints. The formulation is derived from a herbal compound containing GCSB-5 (a purified extract of *Eucommia ulmoides* cortex, *Acanthopanax sessiliflorum* cortex, *Achyranthis bidentata* radix, *Saposhnikovia divaricata* radix, and *Cibotium barometz* rhizoma), supplemented with *Paeonia albiflora* radix alba, *Ostericum koreanum* radix, *Angelica pubescens* radix, and *Scolopendra subspinipes* corpus. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and bone/nerve regeneration properties. The product is manufactured at the Jaseng herbal medicine dispensary in partnership with Green Myungpum Pharmaceutical and is included in clinical practice guidelines for lumbar disc herniation in South Korea.
