Shinjimun is a nutraceutical and botanical drug candidate developed by Catalyst Ryukyu Co., Ltd., derived from the Okinawan medicinal herb *Peucedanum japonicum*, commonly known as Chomeiso or Long-life herb. The product is designed to address metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, by leveraging the bioactive properties of the plant's constituents, such as coumarins (e.g., isosamidin) and polyphenols. Shinjimun functions primarily as a dual agonist of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors alpha (PPAR-alpha) and gamma (PPAR-gamma), which play critical roles in regulating lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity.
