Overview

Short hairpin RNA (shRNA) targeting CARHSP1 is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to silence the expression of Calcium-regulated heat-stable protein 1 (CARHSP1). CARHSP1 is a member of the cold shock domain (CSD) protein family and functions as an RNA-binding protein (RBP) that regulates mRNA stability and translation. In the context of prostate cancer, CARHSP1 has been identified as a key driver of tumor progression by binding to and stabilizing the mRNA of Interleukin-17 Receptor A (IL-17RA). This stabilization leads to the activation of the JAK-STAT3 and NF-κB signaling pathways, which promote tumor growth, metastasis, and the upregulation of PD-L1, thereby facilitating immune escape. By specifically knocking down CARHSP1 expression, this shRNA therapy aims to destabilize IL-17RA mRNA, inhibit oncogenic signaling, and restore anti-tumor immune responses.
