Overview
Shouhui Tongbian is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) capsule formulation primarily used for the treatment of constipation and the promotion of intestinal function recovery. It is composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Polygonum multiflorum* (He Shou Wu), *Aloe vera*, *Cassia seed*, *Lycium barbarum* (Goji berry), *Panax ginseng*, and *Citrus aurantium*. The formula is designed to moisten the intestines, promote bowel movements, and tonify Qi and Yin. In clinical settings, it is being investigated for its ability to shorten the time to first flatus and defecation in perioperative patients (e.g., after elective surgery or pancreaticoduodenectomy) and to improve stool consistency as measured by the Bristol Stool Scale. It is manufactured by Lunan Pharmaceutical Group in China.
