Overview
Shouhui Tongbian Jiaonang (also known as Shouhui Tongbian Capsule) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine developed and manufactured by Lunan Pharmaceutical Group (specifically Lunan Hope Pharmaceutical). It is formulated with eight traditional Chinese herbs: Fallopia multiflora (He Shou Wu), Aloe barbadensis (Lu Hui), Cassia obtusifolia (Jue Ming Zi), Lycium barbarum (Gou Qi Zi), Equus asinus gelatin (E Jiao), Panax ginseng (Ren Shen), Atractylodes macrocephala (Bai Zhu), and Citrus aurantium (Zhi Shi). It is clinically indicated for the treatment of functional constipation, particularly in patients presenting with qi and yin deficiency accompanied by internal toxin accumulation. The formulation works by promoting gastrointestinal motility, modulating gut microbiota, and regulating tryptophan metabolism and the 5-HT pathway.
