Overview
Shouzu Ning Decoction No.2 (SND2) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University for the treatment of hand-foot skin reaction (HFSR). HFSR is a common dermatological toxicity associated with multikinase inhibitors (MKIs) such as sorafenib and sunitinib. SND2 is specifically tailored for patients exhibiting the TCM pattern of 'dampness-heat stasis syndrome.' The decoction is typically applied topically to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and promote skin healing in patients with grade 2 HFSR. Although a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was initiated to evaluate its efficacy and safety, the study was subsequently canceled by the investigator.
