Overview

SHR-1906 is a novel, fully humanized monoclonal antibody (IgG1 subtype) that targets connective tissue growth factor (CTGF, also known as CCN2), a protein implicated in the pathogenesis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). By specifically binding to CTGF with high affinity, SHR-1906 blocks its interaction with transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1), thereby inhibiting fibrogenesis. Preclinical studies demonstrated that SHR-1906 reduces TGF-β1 levels in alveolar lavage fluid, decreases collagen deposition and fibrotic foci formation in lung tissue, and improves survival rates in mouse models of pulmonary fibrosis. The drug has shown favorable safety and tolerability profiles in phase I clinical trials involving healthy participants. Clinical development is ongoing for intravenous administration of SHR-1906 as a potential treatment for IPF[1][3][4].
