SHR-3836 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Shanghai Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of multiple myeloma, specifically targeting patients with relapsed or refractory disease. The molecule is designed as a T-cell engager, simultaneously binding to the G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D) on the surface of malignant plasma cells and the CD3 receptor on T lymphocytes. This dual binding facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, leading to T-cell activation and the directed release of cytotoxic granules to eliminate the GPRC5D-expressing myeloma cells. SHR-3836 is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation to determine its safety profile, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity.
