Overview

SHR-5421 is a humanized bispecific antibody targeting G-protein coupled receptor family C group 5 member D (GPRC5D) and CD3. Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals through its subsidiary Suzhou Suncadia Biopharmaceuticals, it is designed to treat relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. By simultaneously binding to GPRC5D on the surface of malignant plasma cells and the CD3 epsilon subunit on T cells, SHR-5421 facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, leading to T-cell activation and directed cytotoxicity against the myeloma cells. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity in patients who have exhausted standard therapeutic options.
