Overview

SHR-5495 is a bispecific antibody being developed for the treatment of cancer, specifically advanced malignant solid tumors. It is designed to selectively activate immune cells within tumors by exploiting differences in PD-1 expression between tumor-infiltrating and peripheral T cells, thereby avoiding excessive activation of peripheral T cells. The drug acts as both an interleukin 2 modulator and a programmed cell death 1 receptor (PD-1) modulator. Its development aims to enhance anti-tumor immune responses while minimizing systemic toxicity. SHR-5495 is currently in Phase I clinical trials for cancer indications, with studies focusing on safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary efficacy[1][2][3][4][5]. It is being developed and manufactured by Suzhou Suncadia Biopharmaceuticals and Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine.
