Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SHR-9803 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals that functions as a T-cell engager. It is designed to simultaneously target Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein frequently overexpressed in gastrointestinal malignancies, and the CD3 epsilon subunit of the T-cell receptor complex. By bridging these two components, SHR-9803 facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, resulting in the directed activation of T lymphocytes and the subsequent lysis of CLDN18.2-expressing tumor cells. The agent is currently undergoing Phase I/II clinical evaluation in patients with advanced solid tumors, with a primary focus on cancers of the digestive tract such as gastric and pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
