SHR0534

SHR0534 is an investigational small molecule drug developed as an oral agonist of the free fatty acid receptor 1 (FFAR1), also known as G protein-coupled receptor 40 (GPR40). It is being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug has undergone phase 1 clinical trials in healthy volunteers, where it demonstrated good safety and tolerability profiles with no serious adverse events. Pharmacokinetic studies showed that SHR0534 is absorbed with a median time to maximum concentration (Tmax) of approximately 4 hours, exhibits dose-proportional increases in systemic exposure, minimal accumulation, and reaches steady state after seven days of dosing. No significant hypoglycemic effects were observed in healthy adults during these early studies[2][3][4].
