shRNA-GPR4 is a short hairpin RNA (shRNA) designed to silence the expression of G-protein coupled receptor 4 (GPR4), a proton-sensing G-protein coupled receptor. In preclinical research, shRNA-mediated knockdown of GPR4 has been utilized to investigate the role of extracellular acidosis in promoting breast cancer metastasis, tumor cell migration, invasion, and inflammatory responses in endothelial cells. Silencing GPR4 with this shRNA has been shown to reduce distant metastases to lymph nodes and lungs in breast cancer xenograft mouse models, as well as attenuate endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and inflammatory pathways in endothelial cells. It is primarily used as a research reagent.
