shRNA-TPP1 is a short hairpin RNA (shRNA) designed to silence the expression of TPP1 (also known as ACD), a key component of the telomere shelterin complex. TPP1 is essential for protecting telomere ends and maintaining genomic stability by recruiting telomerase to telomeres. In esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), TPP1 is frequently overexpressed and associated with tumor progression and metastasis. By utilizing RNA interference (RNAi), shRNA-TPP1 reduces TPP1 mRNA and protein levels, which has been shown in preclinical models to suppress ESCC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. This asset is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the role of telomere maintenance in oncogenesis and as a potential therapeutic strategy for TPP1-overexpressing malignancies.
