SHRS1

SHRS1 is a sublingual film formulation of Eliglustat, a small molecule developed by Shivanka. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for the treatment of adult and adolescent patients with Gaucher disease type 1. This innovative sublingual delivery aims to reduce first-pass metabolism, minimize the risk of drug-drug interactions, enhance gastrointestinal tolerability, and potentially expand treatment accessibility to pediatric patients. The formulation allows for a significantly lower dose compared to existing therapies. Eliglustat, the active ingredient, functions as a substrate reduction therapy by inhibiting glucosylceramide synthase, thereby reducing the production of glucosylceramide, which accumulates in Gaucher disease.
