Shu-Gan-Hua-Zhi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal prescription under clinical investigation for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and related metabolic disorders. Developed and sponsored by The Sixth People's Hospital of Shenyang, the formula is designed to address the TCM patterns of liver qi stagnation and damp-heat, which correspond to hepatic fat accumulation and metabolic syndrome. It is being evaluated for its ability to improve liver function, reduce steatosis, and manage comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and viral hepatitis.
