Overview
Shuanggen Oral Liquid is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Fifth Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital (formerly the 302 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army). It is primarily composed of extracts from *Isatidis Radix* (Ban Lan Gen) and *Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix et Rhizoma* (Shan Dou Gen). The preparation is indicated for the treatment of viral upper respiratory tract infections, particularly influenza, and has been utilized in clinical practice for its heat-clearing and detoxifying properties. Mechanistically, it exhibits broad-spectrum antiviral activity by inhibiting viral attachment and replication, while also exerting anti-inflammatory effects through the modulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It gained significant attention during respiratory disease outbreaks in China as a supportive and preventive treatment.
