Overview

Shuanghe Decoction (Shuanghe Tang) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula used to treat conditions characterized by the 'intertwinement of phlegm and blood stasis.' It is a complex mixture formed by the combination of two other classic TCM formulas: Tao Hong Si Wu Tang (composed of Prunus persica, Carthamus tinctorius, Rehmannia glutinosa, Angelica sinensis, Paeonia lactiflora, and Ligusticum chuanxiong) and Er Chen Tang (composed of Pinellia ternata, Citrus reticulata, Poria cocos, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis). In clinical research, particularly in studies led by Jun Li, it has been evaluated as an adjunctive therapy to conventional Western medicine for the treatment of unstable angina pectoris. The formula is intended to improve myocardial ischemia by promoting blood circulation and resolving phlegm-dampness.
